inFamous Available for PS3 Only
Rating:    9 Out of 10
inFamous is a 3rd person adventure game produced by Sony for the PS3 Gaming console only.

You are Cole MacGrath, a bicycle messenger from Empire City who gets caught in a cataclysmic explosion that screws up the city. This explosion cripples the city and spawns a plague of some sort. This causes a breakdown of basic social services. Cole awakens from the blast to find he has special electricity based powers. The first portion of the game is spent learning about new powers and how to use them. These powers help with getting around, combat and depending on how you're feeling that day, either helping or harming civilians.

The first aspect of the game that caught my attention is the karma meter. Certain missions throughout the game have different ways of performing said deed. One way has you thinking about the people around you and throwing caution for your own well-being to the wind. The other saves your own butt, but hurts those around you. Depending on which route you take, you'll gain either good or evil karma. As missions progress your karma meter will decide which missions are available to you. By doing good or evil missions in a certain zone, you'll lock out the counter part of that mission in the same area. (So if you do the good mission, the evil one will lock out).
Karma also depicts some of the abilities that are available to you through the experience point system. Certain powers are only available if you're good or evil.
Civilians also react differently to you if you're evil; Throwing bottles, yelling at you or simply pulling out a pistol and taking pot shots at you.
This system gives the game a bit of replay value though, as you can go through one way, then play again choosing the other path. And there's tons of play time wrapped in this package.

Pros:
The free roam world makes for a fun time just exploring and doing side stuff. (Collecting dead drops and blast shards). The ability to fall from any distance and not die makes it WAY fun to explore, jumping from building to building without the risk in impending death. (Cole climbs buildings and walls like a parkour runner) The graphics are very nicely done and lend a nice rundown feel to the environment, as it should after an apocalyptic explosion.

Cons:
Replay value lacks a bit, as once you've played the game through and decide to work on the other side of karma, that's pretty much it. There aren't a lot of side things to do other than dead drops blast shards. There's the occasional side mission that pops up but there's no real need to do them once you've finished the game.

Summary:
I really did have a blast playing this game. It's a lot of fun and there's plenty to do. I could spend an hour or two just jumping off buildings and seeing how many people I could wipe out with my thunder drop. :) The voice actors do a great job of setting the mood for the game.
